Classic Steamboat Cruises is a family-owned business
operated by Hamish Turner, captain of the M.V. ‘Grower’;
a heritage vessel built in 1924 and the oldest passenger
vessel operating on the Yarra and Maribyrnong rivers.
Varnished timber and polished brass are features
of the ‘M.V. ‘Grower’,
30 minute and 60 minute tours are available daily,
commencing at 10.30am till day’s end. The
cruise features a commentary which highlights the
golden age of Melbourne and includes environmental
aspects of the river.
The ‘Grower’ is also available for special
sunset and sunrise cruises, for charters to specific
locations such as Science Works, Williamstown, Herring
Island, Leonda Function Centre, Docklands and the
Southern Star Wheel.
It also caters for sporting and concert transfers
to the M.C.G., Rod Laver Arena dna Telstra Dome.
Childrens birthday parties, family picnics, hens
nights etc can be provided.
Special charters for school groups that respond
to teacher requirements and special maritime events
can be arranged.
Pick-ups and set-downs can be arranged at locations
other than SouthbankDeparture location = Berth 4,
